KL Trip

Finally went for my very first KL trip last Thursday! Boarded the 1130 bus at Corpthorne Orchid Hotel and endured a 5 hour bus ride to KL. Too many pics so I just upload a few here hahaha =X

DAY 01

Reached our hotel in Sunway at around 1730 thanks to Uncle Ah Cai and his family (finally got a ride in a Volvo XC90!!) Checked in and joined his family for dinner at a steamboat buffet restaurant nearby. Only RM18 pax! Pity forgot to take any pictures of the place, but they served really yummy honey glazed chicken wings! Really the best bbq honey wings i've had. Of cos there's dazling selections of other seafoods, meats and veggies.

After that that we went to the nearby Sunway Pyramid shopping Centre to shop for some toiletries and drinks. Managed to get myself a grey jacket for RM45. Quite worth it i think hehe =p

DAY 02

Got up early in the morning for breakfast at a malay eatery near our hotel, then went to have some traditional Ipoh white coffee. The coffee tastes a tad different from wat we have here. very fragrant with a tinge of saltiness. nice!

Old Town White Coffee is very popular in KL
the famous Ipoh White Coffee

After breakfast we headed to this National Park in KL for some.. erm.. sight-seeing (though there really isn't very much to see). Turned out to be a disappointing waste of precious time in my opinion. Only thing worth mentioning was perhaps the "4-season garden" which is basically an indoor garden that displays the vegetation of the 4 seasons during their respective times of the year.

Went to Jalan Petaling for some quick shopping and lunch. Once again a pity we had to rush about. It's quite a good place for shopping cos of the variety of stuff available and the fact that prices are bargainable. Rushed back to hotel for a quick bath after that and drove 2 hours to attend my bro's gf's dad's bday dinner. Dinner included *ahem* claypot braised sea cucumber, braised Pork Knuckles, steamed fish, la-la, cereal prawns, and salted-egg crabs!! BBurppzz~

After dinner I took over as the driver to take us back to the hotel cos my bro's gf was too tired to drive anymore hahaha.. bad my first taste of driving in a Kelisa as well as in KL. Quite scary cos the roads had alot of pot-holes, plus not very well-lit, plus the notorious msia drivers haha. But nonetheless a memorable experience. Oh managed to get another polo T and T-shirt on the way back to hotel =X
Day 03
Woke up for breakfast and left for the "French" Village at Bukit Tinggi (halfway up Genting) at 1030. Reached our destination after a full 2-hour drive (omg). the french village turned out to be a huge disappointment. It was basically a 100m street with buildings fashioned similar to those in france. That's all. Nothing else was "French" abt it lol. the Japanese village failed to impress as well.
Left the area at around 1400 and drove to the Batu Caves. My mum was the only one who wanted to ascend to the top so I had to accompany her (272 steps) so just brought the camera along for some shots. It was more like a place of worship for the Indians, though it surprised me that there were many Japanese tourists around the area haha..

Dinner was initially thought to be at Uncle Ah Cai's place. When we reached, his wife treated us to several durians that she hand-picked herself (really very nice!), then followed by half a roast duck, some roast pork, a pot of braised duck wings, and donuts. And the best thing is, he told us all those wre just appetizers!! He wanted to bring us to try this steamed fish head but we decided that we were too full to eat anymore and so had to turn him down politely hahaha. Went back to Sunway Pyramid to do some last-min shopping and had supper before going back to our hotel.

DAY 04

Ailing's (my bro's gf) brother brought us to eat breakfast at this dim-sum place. All the din-sums were really fresh. Pretty amazed how we managed to finish so much food!

Overall it has been an enjoyable experience and I would definitely want to visit KL again. Beyond the reckless drivers and unsafe dark alleys there's this touch of innocence in the people there. Its hard to explain, but the people are warm and accomodating in their own ways.

Signing off! =)

拉得太紧,风筝线会被扯断;
放得太松,刮风时又会东歪西倒。

最后,放风筝的人累了,腻了。
手,松开了。
放手后赫然觉得可惜,想回头抓回风筝线。

但风筝,早已飞走了。
